When considering different ways of losing weight, we are often being told about healthy foods, food supplements, proper sleep, a new diet, stopping dieting, will power, journaling, reducing stress and the list goes on. None of the aforementioned is wrong. However, all the unsystematic abundance of information does not help to lose weight.
A body’s mechanism of storing and releasing fat is quite simple and unambiguous. It has nothing to do with sleep, food supplements, journaling, organic foods or something else similar. It is way more important to understand why and how you started to reprogram your natural eating habits, why you started to eat more than your body needed at the time.
All parents or people who have spent time with babies or toddlers know, that it is impossible to make a baby overeat. It is obvious for a baby to reject all the excess food with the utmost happiness and confidence. Babies do not have concepts, such as food is happiness, security, entertainment, love or sense of belonging. For them, food always exists, and they can have whenever and how much they need.
You are not to blame for weighing more than you would like to. That is the influence of our society and those who raised us, their eating habits and beliefs about food that you have adopted. As a grown up, you understand that when a partner leaves you or you get a ‘no’ as an answer instead of a ‘yes’, then chocolate or a cake cannot fix that situation. Nevertheless, many people turn to food at a first chance to make themselves feel better. For them food is both happiness and punishment, short-term happiness and long-term
punishment.
How does RTT Hypnotherapy differ from other weight loss methods?
When we say that we want something ‘good’ like cake or ice cream, that idea does not come from the body signalling us to eat something because otherwise we would starve. It comes from a belief that cake has always made you feel better, that you can afford yourself something special like chocolate or that you deserve an ice cream. Notice, that is not hunger but a thought in your head. In case you are overweight, your body has been struggling for a while with difficulties to move around, uncomfortable digestion or heightened blood sugar levels, usually variety of health issues in combination.
Overeating is always an emotional activity, not a body’s need. Overeating is based on an underlying belief that eating more food will fix everything.
RTT hypnotherapy identifies and helps you to understand why, how, when and where you adopted unhealthy and unnecessary beliefs about food. If you are able to understand that, then the beliefs are easy to change. Weight loss would be very easy if just talking and awareness helped. Even though you know that a cake cannot make anyone happy, not to mention consuming ten of them, still people continue to eat them, not even understanding the reasons for it.
You cannot change what you do not understand. When you understand,
how your overeating started, that realisation will give you freedom and bring about the desired change.
Why diets don’t work?
Did you know, that the success rate of diets is less than 2% and the failure rate is over 98%?
The longest someone can be on a diet is 6 weeks. It is a great achievement. However, if you are constantly haunted by a thought that once the diet it over you can celebrate with a pizza or eat a double portion of ice cream, then sooner or later you will have put all the weight back on and nothing has changed in the end. More often people end up gaining even more weight than what they started with.
Diets tell you to stay away from the foods you love, punish yourself with food that you do not love, punish your body with a work out that you do not enjoy, fight the urge to eat, do not eat otherwise you are fat, ugly and have no willpower.
Diets try to change a behaviour of what root cause of they do not understand. Diet is a restriction by nature in itself. Everything or anything you limit or restrict, will come back to you with a greater force.
RTT hypnotherapy eliminates old limiting beliefs and replaces them with new supporting beliefs, that do not take anything good away from you. The opposite, you will get something much better. Give yourself a chance. My weight has dropped from 70kg to 56kg. My weight maintains by itself. I eat a lot of oily fish, nuts, juicy vegetables, fruits and seeds. I could eat chocolate or cake, but I do not choose to, because for me it does not make sense to put nutrient empty foods like sugar, flour, food colourings and chemicals in my body.
Rapid spike in blood sugar levels and dizziness from that is a feeling unfamiliar to me and even a thought of it is unpleasant. The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference. I do not hate sweets; I am just
indifferent to it.
